How to install a free SSL for my website?

Provider.lk offers free SSLs with Plesk based Managed WordPress hosting packages powered by Let's Encrypt. To work with a Let’s Encrypt SSL the domain must be pointed correctly to your hosting account and work in a web browser.

Here is how to get a Let’s Encrypt free SSL for your website:

  1. Log in to your Plesk panel
  2. On the (left) sidebar, click "Websites & Domains"
  3. Click "SSL/TLS Certificate" icon
  4. Click on the "Let’s Encrypt" symbol to pull up the Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificate page.
  5. Type a valid e-mail address in the box.
  6. Select the “Include www.(example.com)” as an alternate domain name check box. So that the SSL certificate protects your domain with and without the www prefix.
  7. Click "Install". When installation finishes successfully you will get a confirmation message.
  8. If it doesn’t work, check that the domain name is valid. Also, check that the domain is:
  • spelled right
  • registered
  • has proper DNS records
  • accessible in the web

When you create a new domain name, please make sure to add the relevant nameserver records, and allow sufficient time for DNS changes to be propagated before trying to issue a SSL.
