DNS management from Provider.lk is powered by Cloudflare. If you have purchased DNS management with your domain registration, you can easily manage your domain’s DNS records directly from your client area using our Cloudflare DNS integration. This allows you to add, edit, or remove records such as A, CNAME, MX, and TXT for your domain quickly and securely.
1. Navigate to Your Domain
- Log into your client area
- Click Domains in the main menu
- Select the domain
2. Setup DNS Management
After selecting your domain, check the left navigation bar under the “Manage” section. If DNS Management is already purchased,
- You will see either a “Create DNS Zone” button (if it’s the first time creating a zone) or a “Cloudflare Manager” button.
- Click it to create/manage your DNS zone.
If any of these button are not visible, it means DNS Management has not been purchased for this domain. You can buy it separately by navigating to Addons under the “Manage” section in the left navigation bar.
If this is your first time creating a DNS zone, click the “Details” button next to your domain name in Cloudflare Manager to view your assigned nameservers. Make sure to update your domain’s nameservers with these values to complete the setup (How to change the nameservers?).
3. Manage DNS Records
Once inside the CloudFlare Manager, click "DNS Records" button to manage your DNS records.
- Add a record: Under "Add DNS Record" section of the top, select type (A, CNAME, MX, TXT, etc.), and fill in the values, and click "Add" button.
- Edit a record: Click "Edit" next to an existing record to change it and click "Save Changes" to apply the changes.
- Delete a record: Click "Delete" to remove a record.
Tip: Always double-check changes, as incorrect DNS records can affect email delivery or website access.
Changes usually propagate within a few minutes to a few hours depending on DNS caching - What is DNS Propagation? Why does it take so long to update?
